That time of year is edging closer and closer in. That time where you can't go out with just a jumper on anymore (my usual trick); you need to start wrapping up with more layers than a block of puff pastry.

Never before have I been one to bother with such trivialities such as wearing coats, but in my old age (well, I feel it...), it's beginning to not be a conscious choice, but a necessity. I've been wandering out the house, only to spin round on one leg, Basil Fawlty style, to retrieve my thick winter coat, scarf and beanie!

There were even a couple of times where I'd found icicles where there really shouldn't have been, but that's another story. We won't go there.

For the last few days I've been down in Cornwall, recharging the old batteries, for what was certainly a well-needed break. 

I find a breath of good fresh sea air is all it takes to get the mind focussed again, after what has been so far a very busy year. And what with the British weather being what it is - bracing, to put it politely, it certainly was 'fresh'!

(Most of us normal people call it b****y freezing....)

Ah well, I'm back in the land of the living now, and ready to tackle another week in the land of voice....
