Born and raised in the foothills of the Birmingham Riviera, I've always had a bit of a creative streak. I've always had a passion for various pursuits, photography, videography, and of course "doing voice stuff".
Voice Description
It's quite strange to have to describe your own voice, however, people have commented in the past that it is rich, deep, gravelly, with an authoritative but friendly tone. I also have a reasonable range, so I'm not just stationed in one particular area.
My voice is naturally neutral & non-accented, so not Received Pronunciation, or "RP", like BBC newsreaders of old (although I can do RP if required). Being a voice that is, essentially, non-geographic, it means it's more flexible for lots more types of projects which can be applied in more areas. Although I can do a few accents if absolutely necessary, it's always best to get native speakers; I'm certainly no post-graduate of accent-ology, if there is such a thing.
I now spend my days producing voiceover of various sorts, commercials for TV and radio, and a multitude of different corporate productions and on hold messages. I've managed to obtain a very healthy client list, which includes companies such as Severn Trent and the Autosport International Motorshow, a list which seemingly is continuing to grow which is excellent.
My Key Skills
Coming from a background in video production, I'm fully aware and conscious of the role the editor plays when integrating my voiceover into their project; therefore if and when time constraints are an issue, it's no trouble - I'm used to it - if you need the voice track to fit within a 27 second time frame, I'll make sure that it does.
I'm fortunate enough to have voiced quite a wide spectrum of projects, so whatever your potential requirement, chances are I've done it before, so you can rest assured you'll get a great result.
