It’s been sad and sickening to see the events unfold in London and indeed Birmingham on Monday and last night, amongst even more cities across the UK, of nothing but mindless violence, thuggery and opportunistic looting. Being a Brummie born and bred, I’ve not personally witnessed scenes like this for a long long time, if ever.

However I have had my heart warmed by the actions of many Brummies across the city that yesterday upped-tools and cleaned up the mess left by these idiots, showing them that the city will not stop because of their selfish actions. The same has to be said for many local business owners who yesterday supported our Business Biscotti networking group at G Casino on Broad St in their droves, having just under 40 people in attendance; all there to network with each other and help drive their businesses forward.

The meeting itself had an incredible buzz, and all the feedback I received was extremely positive, people enjoying themselves and making some great new connections.
